Brief Introduction of Applied Science and Technology College

    Applied Science and Technology College, one of the key comprehensive universities of Heilongjiang Province, focuses on training talents equipped with high-level application-oriented and advanced skills. Our college adapts to the development trend of higher vocational and technical education in China, centers on students' ability cultivation, highlights the higher vocational and technical education characteristics, and fosters social and economic development needs for the application-oriented talents. We have sent more than 5,000 graduates for local economic development and construction.
    We meet the needs of social economic development, follow the market-oriented direction, and constantly adjust majors. Now we have one undergraduate course of E-business, six professional training courses of Computer Application Technology, Electronic Information Engineering, Secretarial, Property Management, Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance, and E-business. Professional construction has been continuously strengthening, and the major of Property Management has been approved as a national experimental reform of higher vocational education by the National Ministry of Education in early 2002. We are membership unit of China Association of Property Management, and the talent development and training base of Yangtze Delta Joint Association.
The College has 53 full-time teachers, including 6 professors, 21 associate professors, and 22 lecturers. There are 20 people who have two qualification certificates both in teaching and engineering, accounting, or property management. We invite experts and craftsmen into the classroom, setting up a stable part-time teaching group.
    College emphasizes on practical teaching, strives to cultivate application-oriented talents who not only have theoretical knowledge but also have strong practical ability. We possess seven labs, including comprehensive property management simulation laboratory, computer networks laboratory, electronic information simulation laboratory, e-business simulation laboratory, and hardware laboratory etc.. At the same time, we contact more than 30 off-campus training bases, including cities in Beijing, Harbin, Daqing and Jiamusi. All the teaching process is to achieve a combination of theory and practice.
In 2008, Vocational Skills Training Centers in Jiamusi University was established, cooperating with our college. We actively implement vocational qualification certification system, setting up Jiamusi University Vocational Skill Appraisal Institute, E-business Specialist Professional Unified National Examination Station, Jiamusi University Computer Information High-tech Test Stations, Network Editors Unified National Examination Station, Heilongjiang High Skills Training Base. All the units can identify the professional qualifications for most majors, so that the graduates are able to get an educational qualification certificate and the corresponding professional qualification certificate, enhancing their job-hunting competitiveness.
