Academy of music of Jiamusi university now has 117 teaching and administrative staffs, including 95 full-time teacher, 14 professors and 19 associate professors, one teacher who assiduously study Ph. Degree, and 7 teachers who has Master's degree and 4 assiduously study Master's degree, we all have 1204 students
    The college has two special field which are Musicology and Music performance .Music performance include compose command Vocal music instrumental music keyboard dance drama performance and so on .We have music theory teaching and research section, vocal music department, orchestra department , keyboard department. We have concert hall, piano classroom , electronic organ classroom, classroom of music made by computer, and 4000 square metres musical instrument house which include Stanford piano worth 1,200,000yuan and 168 pianos .Our college has our own Symphony orchestra , Nation orchestra , Chorus, Military musical corps, Dance regiment and so forth.
    Our college is a unite of China educates institute art to educate special field committee, Chinese vocal music association, the Chinese tone assists the erhu fiddle institute, Chinese chorus association, Musician association chairman unit. The teachers hold The tone assists trustee member, Piano trustee member of association, higher pedagogical colleges and universities art education committee vice-director, vocal music institute trustee member, accordion learn vice president, bamboo flute special field committee vice president of Hei longjiang province .
    We engage Central Conservatory of Music, vocal music department, graduate student director,professor Zhou Meiyu ,China famous pianist and conductor Shi Shucheng to come to cut the ribbon and hold a concert. Song and dance ensemble of General Political Department One-level actor of country vocalist Wang Xiufen , Xu Wenbo who works in Germany playing Viola gave lectures for our students .
    In the year 2009 we announce 19 scientific research thesis ,26 teaching thesis, setting up 7 scientific research project ,6 teaching research project , 6 monograph,6 teaching material, scientific research rewarded 44,teaching rewarded 6.In the recent 3 years our teachers and students received state-class award,province-class award more than 200.These prove our college now have entered a more brilliant stage .

Introduction to the Specialties of Musicology and  Musical Performance
    The specialty Musicology, an established specialty of Conservatory of Music of JMS University, was set up in 1990.  At the very beginning, it was the Department of Art, which later developed into and is now known as Musicology. The number of the students to be enrolled remains stable each year, approximating 40. There are more than 80 teachers in this department, among whom there are 11 professors, 10 associate professors, over 20 lecturers, 4 teachers who are pursuing master degree, one who is pursuing doctor degree. The number of the students is more than 160.
    In 2006, Chinese Ministry of Education appointed our college as "one of the teaching and reforming experimental colleges for musicology undergraduate courses". The school system requires all the students to study for 4 yeas and get 170 credits as required. We offer more than 30 courses for the students to take.     
    The specialty Musical Performance, a major specialty of Conservatory of Music, was set up in 2000, which now has the following 7 subdivisions: Vocal Music, Music Keyboard, Musical Instruments, Music Composition and Conducting, Dance Choreographing, Drama Performance, and Hosting. We have excellent teaching facilities and there are an abundant number of students for us to enroll. 
    There are more than 80 teachers in this department, among whom there are 11 professors, 18 associate professors, over 20 lecturers, 4 teachers who are pursuing master degree, one who is pursuing doctor degree. The number of the students is more than 1100.
    The school system requires all the students to study for 4 yeas, and get 172 to 184 credits as required. We have more than 80 courses for the students to select and take. We also offer the students more opportunities to practice, such as artistic practice, performance on stage, social and artistic internship, graduation paper writing practice and graduation concert.
